Lest we forget - take a moment to reflect ...

At the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, the Great War ends. At 5 a.m. that morning, Germany, bereft of manpower and supplies and faced with imminent invasion, signed an armistice agreement with the Allies in a railroad car outside Compiégne, France. The First World War left nine million soldiers dead and 21 million wounded, with Germany, Russia, Austria-Hungary, France, and Great Britain each losing nearly a million or more lives. In addition, at least five million civilians died from disease, starvation, or exposure.

at 11:00 am on November 11th - take a moment to reflect on all those who gave their lives in all battles to fight for their country - to fight for ideals and liberties that you now enjoy

"Jack Thompson has sued Facebook for US$40 million, saying that the social networking site harmed him by not removing angry postings made by Facebook gamers. The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Thompson is best know for bringing suit against Grand Theft Auto's Take Two Interactive, Sony Computer Entertainment America, and Wal-Mart, arguing that the game caused violent behavior." -Slashdot.org

"Sourcesclose to both companies have confirmed that Google is in negotiationsto buy Twitter.  The discussion is still in the early stages and notbeing officially announced, nor has there been a dollar amountsuggested.  Twitter turned down Facebook's offer of half a billiondollars just a few months ago, so it's safe to assume that whatever theprice ends up being, it will be a lot."

I know this is not gaming related but it's a big slap in the face for Microsoft.

"Microsoft is in for more bad news regarding its Zune personal music players, as GameStop on Thursday announced it decided tostop selling the flash-memory digital music player in its stores. Thevideo-game retailer said lack of consumer demand and the device's illfit with its existing offerings prompted the decision, which was madeabout a month ago. The retail chain is made up of hundreds of storesacross the US, and will not order new stock, clearing out existinginventory exclusively on its web store."
