hi i was drawing somthing thin in radiant and i got a error message and it read like this

instanceHandle > 0 && instanceHandle <= edMapGlobals.modelInstMax

i am not sure what to do now the map will not open up any more

It has probably created bad geometry or something, you can open your .map file in a texteditor and remove the last brushes/entitys you created, then save it and open it up again.

now it says

parce entity- }not found
get last error ()= 0
an unrecoverable error has occured. would you like to go to preferences befor quitting q3radiant
[banghead][sad]

That is not good.

Did you make several versions of your map while in production? If not then here is a lesson hard learnt. When making a map I never use the final name as a rule. What I do is start with (as an example) mp_1 and then everytime I do something important or just every so often I will save as a new map with a name such as mp_2. This way if a crash occurs then I only end up going back to my last save point and rebuild from there again. Just remember if you have your .gsc and other related files built you will have to rename or redo them as you change the mp_ name.

i figured unrecoverable was a bad sign
[duh]
i will infuture do as you sujested[idea]i had just finished colouring in cod uo valley day for waw was adding extra water mill to creek.
i still have the map in caulk but not coloured in

in fact it is good, 'cause all it says is, that the brackets in the .map are messed up. check the entity blocks, especially the worldspawn area which encloses most of the brushes and meshes.

i found that by renaming hte map file to a .txt file (make a backup first ) and deleting the last couple of lines usually fixes the error
