Hi, I'm totlay new to mapping, and have little or no knowledge of it. I want to do it, because our fav map, Backlot2, is our fav because it's a map you don't have to relearn, and all the places you wanted to go are open.

Why is there not modded versions of other stock maps? and is it possible to use a SP map, such as the one that starts in bog, and is joined to the top of crossfire, and both are opened up too. If these are available, please tell me where. And if not, why not?

(watching foyleman's video at moment.. cheers for that, it's a great begginers guide.. )

No, it is not possible to edit stock maps.

There was a discussion about this in another topic, but Infinity Ward / Treyarch does not want you to edit all their maps.

As you said you can learn from the maps they gave you and ofcourse here at Modsonline and at many other sites people can help with any problems, the amount of tutorials is increasing as we speak.

Thanks.. Been trying to answer that question for weeks. Will it be possible for me to recreate a map, perhaps without so much detail, but a similar map to stock maps then?

I'm unzipping the software as we speak..

sure, you can remake the maps, but its hard to get it the same scale and details etc

Thanks. Has anyone done this already? Out of the hundreds and hundreds of maps out there.. surely I'm not the only person thinking this.

It's just, having used the mod tools all day, for hours and hours.. I have managed to create a single room. Surely you guys are better at this than me.

Does anyone know of copied, modded stock maps?
