The official JoWood website for Stargate SG-1: The Alliance has been launched. It contains information about the game as well as some screenshots. The game is to be an action shooter for single player and multiplayer experiences. The story will tie into the TV series as well as having some unique elements.

I was wondering about the game's development and then I found the FAQs. Here are some quotes:

It is based on a heavily modified and graphically enhanced Unreal 2.5 engine.

Multiplayer will play an important role and we will integrate all the classic multiplayer modes like Death Match, Capture the Flag and Team variations of that. The SG 1 Team is at the heart of our game, so co-op is of course one of the most exciting options available for the game. We will have more details on this as time progresses

The engine is very modder-friendly, and we`ll do our best to support the scene as well.

Not sure about Unreal 2.5 engine/modding... But I'm sold on the game, for 1 reason... CO-OP, I will certainly make a very big bomb, if they pull the same xbox crap doom3 did...

I feel the same way. I don't like modding on the unreal engine but I am a fan of Stargate SG1 and as long as this game ties in a little with the TV series, then I think it could be awesome.
