Oh my! Nice job man. Makes me want to get back into mapping for CoD4 only problem is all the errors(Which made me quit in the first place) Anyways keep up the good work [drink]

looks nice but remember too many pathways for a player and the map isnt as fun, also keep some open areas pretty big so that ppl can run around and try not to have many objects in between the players. Just imagine urself shooting it out with others players, try and picture how many stuff should go in between the pathways, the open areas and maybe a few sniper spots but that dont cover the entire map but a good decent area. also are you going to make it an indoor map or outdoor map?

Looks good, the 'cave' would look better though if it was dark and that the light isn't affecting the entire cave but rather shines down in a smaller lightbundle (connect it to a null and face it downwards, then play around with the fov_inner and fov_outer key/values).

Then use an FX (or edit one in the FX editor) to create a beam facing downwards.

Now! would you let me into the secret? how on earth have you made that tunnel? Could you give me a clue and even to the texture used?

I have been messing about trying (in vain) to make two short lengths of tunnel and have only ended up with something that looks c**p and cant light properly.

If you live near me there's a bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale in it for you if you would tell me how the "h" you did that.

Makes me wanna [puke] with envy rofl

Thanks for the comments everyone

@ DoA - I am considering making a short tutorial on the tunnel :)

Texture is ch_ground_dirt03 with the ch_ground_gravel01_decal for the little pathway.

@ Voidsource - Will do my best to make the map as enjoyable as possible


Bit at a standstill for layout for the moment, will post update when i can :)

Make sure to remember gameplay and not just making it look nice. People wont play the map if it isnt fun.

Many thanks for that BS m8, With a bit of trial and error I managed to make two decent tunnels at last. Where I was going wrong was I was trying to keep the density of my meshes down which made the angles and bends of my tunnel look naff. Upped the density some and now have good looking tunnels.. Will try that texture later
