I have been trying to find out how to get rid of my multi color models but dont know how! I was told a Reflection probe would get rid of it but it didnt.

Can anyone help me? or point me in the right direction? thanks!

you need to chase around after the green dots and make a grid m8

I don't quite get what that means.. I just watched a youtube tutorial on how to get rid of it, but i just got mad errors.

I was told to go into ...Calll of duty 4\raw\maps\mp

and copy the backlot file, change all the mp_backlot's to my new map name and that should get rid of it... but it doesnt. i just get more errors and then my map wont open.

any suggestions?

Eh?????? click "model collect dots in the compiler and click " make new grid"

Then when your map starts you run around collecting green dots

Hi there

there is an easier way to make a grid file.

you can place brushes all over your map with the grid texture found in the tool textures.

when you have done that the rainbow colors will be gone.

Just simply draw a brush around your spawn points, OR over your whole playable area. Texture it tools>light_grid_volume

Its pink, and says "light_grid_volume" on it.

Maps needs at least one Reflection Probe.

And an type of Light Grid, either over your whole map, or just around your spawn points.

I think the old way was to run around collecting dots, much easier now with the tools texture.

Don't use the pacman way it's a complete waste of time, you can just use LIGHTVOLUME brushes to cover the area the player will be able to play in, don't make a brush over the entire map as that will be a waste of memory.

ah it is still the most memory efficient methode. you only eat up dots where you can come. I think When my map is finiched I will pacman my self around the map.

You mean that rainbow effect on ur weapons and such? That's a DX9 thingy. Update your zone file.
