What's more, I have even encountered problems with patches not even touching my patch roads. It seems that bad patch manipulation will affect nearby patches. As you can well imagine, this one had me really stumped for awhile. I had a badly manipulated patch hill. This hill was above and behind a patch wall. At the bottom and adjacent to the patch wall was a nice patch road. Bad combo! By a slow process of elimination and re-opening my map without saving, I eventually found out that it was the patch hill. This was a real surprise since it didn't intersect the patch wall. It wasn't even touching anything for that matter! But sure enough, removing that fixed my problems.
