I have a problem i need to know how i can trigger a hurt trigger on and off i need a trigger_hurt to work when a player stands in a trigger_multiple brush and the trigger_hurt has to stop hurting players when a player moves out of the trigger_multiple

the trigger multiple and trigger hurt are on different places

it wont turn off automatically upon leaving a trigger you have to toggle it off, it would be alot simpler if you made this into a button -- press it on press it off -- its very easy to make a button and probably more realistic looking anyway.

can i make the button out of a trigger texture so you cant see it and its just like there isnt a button

so if i place it on the floor and a player stands on it the hurt trigger works and when he moves off the button teh hurt trigger doesnt work

no nothing happens automatically
you target a targetname [it goes on]
target the targetname again [it goes off]
target the targetname [goes on again]
a button is so simple and perfect for that!
there may be a way to do what you want but you will have to experiment its complicated. you should realise by now you will need more than one trigger -- one to turn the pain on, one to turn pain off. actually you will need more than that -- but for now lets imagine a ring shaped trigger that deactivates and a round trigger inside the ring that activates.
in addition to that you will have to enable and disable these 2 triggers back and forth so that only one is enabled at a time, because both triggers will target the same name, the name of a trigger_hurt! so this will require a relay because obviously the triggers cant target each other to enable and disable if they have to target the hurt to turn it on and off. the relay gets the same name as the trigger_hurt, and it targets the names of both trigger_multiples! since the outer trigger starts off, it will become active and the inner one becomes in-active when they both are targetted by the relay -- sorry i cant build it for ya takes too much time but thats how i might approach it maybe it will work good luck.

Sry to but in, but while your on the topic, can you explain the exact function/usage of a target_relay? It's 1 of those neat things in the menu I haven't needed to play with, but sounds quite useful...

Code:

a relay just activates a target

instead of: this-->that

and instead of: this--->that
|
-->that

you can do: this--->that
|
-->relay-->theother
