This picture is taken from the Junobeach map, can anyone tell me how the shoreline effect was achieved?

I have a basic water texture, how do I blend the shoreline texture onto this and how do I stagger the shoreline?

The link is no longer functional. What was the effect? Was is waves coming into shore? There's a texture in SFX for that.

I made a terrain-mesh (not brush) with the shoreline-texture placed it on the same level as the watersurface and then alphablended the edge towards the open sea to get a smooth start of the shoreline ripples.
