First issue:
Weird texture



Second
I have set lgihts where you see the light spots, but why does it not light up the room? Also why do I see through the walls?

its prettty hard to tell anything from those screen shots


first :

did you use the surface inspector to manipulate it in anyway ?

is it applied to a brush or patch ?

does it appear warped in Radiant ?

whats the texture called and where is located in the texture options ( might need to look at it to test )

probably not , but is it a custom texture ?

second :

the standard default radius for a light entity is 200 (represented by the radius ring when light entity is selected) you can increse the radius by adding some keys and values in the entity window or add some more light entities

to increase the radius :

select the light entity and press N

add these keys and values

Key : radius
value: 300

and you should see the radius change size in radiant , play with it untill you have the area you wish to cast light on

also , make sure the light entity isnt inside or touching a brush , it can have an effect on the it

third :

again its hard to tell from those screens but it looks as though you have used a ground texture with the _blend in the name of the texture , without a base texture (non-blend texture) underneath it they may become transparent in game

re-texture using a non blend texture and see if that helps

thats about all i can help with based on those screens

That first texture problem you have, the texture is ment to look like that, its for a tarp or something at night time outside. You will see the texture appears like that in radiant if you make a light next to it.

Thanks for the replies.

I did change the first texture, that fixed that.

Second:
I had the light radius to 512.

Third.. Ill change the texture see how that works.

Thanks again.

Oh and also, can you help me set up so I can test the map with my friends? I have looked everwhere, but I am SOOOO confused

Ok so I changed the textures and that seemed to have fized the see through walls problem. I also increased the intensity to 2 and radius to 512 on all the lights.

Now whe whole room is lit up plus one hallway. The other hallway is still having the same problems. as seen here:
for testing purposes, i put 6 lights down this hall way, neither are showing up...

to be honest it might just take some trial and error

start by reducing the number of light entities in that area ( or remove them all completely ) and then add a light entity one at a time using the default radius and settings

compile test and adjust accordingly till you get the effect your after
