Ok, So I have finished my map. Compiled with no errors.

I found a link in COD4 tuts distribution of map files
That explains what to package for distribution. But doesnt say what to put int he README.

Now what do i create in the README so when my friends open the zip file, they know where to put the files? Thanks.

Actually it compiles with out errors, but I found some map errors on a final test:

Above ground Lighting is good. Below is a different story.

I created an underground tunnel from one building to another. I added lights inside, yet only one light shows up, everywhere else is pitch black. I also can see "through" the walls to another section further away. There is a texture on the brush. ??? I thought that creating a LightGrid box in the tunnels would fix it, it didnt.

I read this:

"all you need to do is provide your friends with the .ff file

should be in , codW@W/usermaps/mp_yourmapname

copy the entire file not just the .ff and thats about it , send it to your mates and tell them to put in the same folder you copied it from , if that folder doent exsist in the cod root folder for them , just tell them to make a new folder , call it usermaps , and put it in there"

Does not work... does anyone else have any Ideas how to get my friends to see "usermaps" when they go to MODS to select it?

Do they have the game patched.

Have they created the correct directories?

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Activision\CoDWaW\usermaps\mp_yourmapname

Yes our games are updated to the latest patch.

Correct. I instructed them to create a "usermaps" folder in the W@W folder. Then to put the folder mp_mymapname i gave them on a flash drive (with the two .ff files in it) into the usermaps folder.

Both are telling me they do not see Usermaps when selecting the MODS tab. Is it correct that I supply them with the .ff files? do I need to do more?

Thanks for the quick reply.

Are you sure they are putting them in the right spot?

They need to go in the exact path that techno2sl posted.

"codW@W/usermaps/mp_yourmapname"
^That is the development directory for mappers/modders.

Use the path Techno listed if you have XP.
Vista is C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Activision\CoDWaW
