This is my first map that i have released, previously i was just making rooms, experimenting and what not. The map is called dm_Tower and is for HL2DM, it is meant for around 8 players but i will be enlarging the map soon to accomodate for more people. It is set in a very large tower with multiple floors, lots of stairs, ramps and ledges. This map is great for fast paced action similar to the kind of gameplay you would find in some UT maps. As you can see this is still a beta so please email any ideas or advice to richwilliams04@gmail.com

Right, i have done some more work on the map

1. Repositioned the weapons to suit the gameplay of each floor

2. added more props

3. made the girder easier to climb

It looks like a nice map I had a problem getting off the ladder have a look at foylemans ladder VTM to fix that to speed up game play.
The hook in the middle you could have that on a rope so the players can swing it at other players to try to hit them and maybe have some ropes going across for the player to run on.
I like dark maps I find them more fun well done.
If you want to see how to set the ropes so the player can walk on them download my 1st hl2 test map it has the VMF in as always with me.

V2 is done and final just got to upload it.
PS you can set the boxes to spawn stuff when they break.

thanks for the ideas mate, i like the ropes idea. I was thinking of having a platform that is always going up and down which players can jump on. Like a crane lifting a platform, it will speed up gameplay and make it easier to get to the top from the bottom

yep looks good dude. in your first screenies the stairs were made from rectangular brushes. it may be an idea to make these into grated stairs so you can shoot though them and see players through them. it may help spped up the play a bit and will make it look like a better map map.

yeah i have basically already started that. Some of the stairs and levels are metal grates some are concrete. i tried it with more metal but it just made it too easy to snipe

hey swampy, i having problems actually attaching the ropes to stuff, i can make it look like it is attached but when i load the map it just falls to the floor, any chance you know how to fix it?

Yes m8 you need a phys_lengthconstraint you can have a look at my VMF in the link above or get this great VTM to help you

Your decals look ... strange? As if they are fullbright?

How did you create them -- did you use overlays?

I'm only getting this from the screenshots you posted.
