Can you make prefabs bigger or smaller?
if so How to do it??

you can resize them but you would have to go into the prefab by right clicking in the 2D view and whilst you have the prefab selected and goto prefab/Enter_prefab or something,,, then u can select the whole house then rescale it with the scale tool in the tolls tray at the top of radiant

I don't believe it's possible to resize prefabs.

you should be able to edit any prefab

if its a complex prefab then of course it makes things harder but a prefab , as the name suggests is a prefabricated piece of work in radiant

so if its made in radiant it can be edited in radiant as per Hercules's post

so can you enter the prefab to edit at all ?

post up the name of the prefab (havnt got much time to hunt for it) and maybe there is a techique you can use to re-create a custom version of it for your map , as i said if it was made in Radiant it should be able to be edited or re-created

if you cant "enter" the prefab (select the prefab/ right click 2d window/prefab/enter prefab) then chances are its a model not a prefab !

You do realise that a prefab is just a .map file, correct?


Is there ANY logic, AT ALL, in that there would ever be a way of resizing a .map file?

The answer is no.



Anyway!! The prefab you're trying to resize obviously won't work. So you need to enter the prefab and take out the MODEL, which will be pasted into your map.

Then you can edit the properties of that MODEL with:

key: modelscale
value: 2

Bare in mind 1 = 100%, therefore 2 would double the size as 2 = 200% and so on.

Back onto resizing prefabs though, please tell me why you think it would EVER be possible to automatically resize every brush and entity within a prefab, keeping to strict aspect ratio and maintaining a perfect origin in regards to the AR.

Anyways, I'll just rant.. but sometimes a little common sense is in need.

The newbie is you!

Like you said a prefab is just a .map file, correct?

A .map is made of brushes and meshes, correct?

Now if you select those brushes and meshes ( i ) then click on Selection in the task bar then on scale, you'll be able to resize the prefab the way you need. Just put the same value in x, y and z to keep everything clean.

It is possible because their is a map tat has been made for COD5 with the same rope and its huge
