I used the search feature and found the "custom maps on a server" thread, but what I got from that was those were the steps to take if you wanted to host a few people in on your own server to test your map. I have done that with success and would now like to test my server on a modded server. The fine gentlemen at [OMC]Snipe Team have gracious offered to put my map on their server for us to test it out with more people (yes i know they will not be able to download the map which is why we will be sending it everyone via yahoomessenger or xfire).

My question is, when trying custom maps on an actual server, what files will they need, where do the respective files go for the server itself, as well as where do we put them in our system so it will be playable?

If this was addressed else where I aplogize for the double post ... I could not find it.

Thanks, in advance, for your guidance.

On the server create a folder called 'usermaps', under the root of your game.
Activision/CODWaW/usermaps

In 'usermaps', create a folder that duplicates your map name.
Activision/CODWaW/usermaps/mp_custommap

In this folder is where you place the contents of your map
mp_custommap.ff
localized_mp_custommap.ff

Client side issues are different for each user.

For XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Activision\CoDWaW\usermaps
(where Administrator is your profile name - you'll need to create the 'usermap' folder there as well)

For Vista:
C:\Users\administrator\AppData\Local\Activision\Co DWaW\usermaps
(where Administrator is your profile name - you'll need to create the 'usermap' folder there as well)

Have fun!!
