We [Treyarch] have the budget for at least one more game patch, but if anything gets missed in the modtools patch, it is unlikely to ever get a fix

He said that last week - before this mod tools patch came out. Hence, no more patches for the mod tools. If its broke now, it will stay broke unless we - the community - fix it.

Perhaps that's why zeroy and myself seem like we "hate" Treyarch (which is actually a misrepresentation of how we feel, but I'll allow it for argument's sake): we dont keep shifting our hopes onto some future mod tools patch, as we know its not going to happen. Hence, all our upset and disappointment is coming out now, rather than in the future.

[sad]

its hard to stay positive with info like that but im still not gonna give up hopes entirely

i love the CoD serie's from the first to the last verison of it , and its really hard to see it in the shambles it seems to have stumbled its way into with W@W , the game its self is great but the after sales support and community relations has been shocking !!

even harder to see what it has done to the community but its now more than ever we need to come together and carry this limping dog to the vet's and unite to bring it back to life , even if only for a short while longer

i cant fully understand the situation on the same level as Tally , Zeroy and other's because your invovlement with the game over the year's has probably been alot deeper than most but i fully understand the frustration of it all

i just hope future patch or no future patch for the tools this game doesnt seal the fate of the CoD series altogether , olny time will tell i guess

OK,

First of all, this is the Chris_P that Tally is referring to. Second of all, I'm sorry that you feel so hostile about the release of the mod tools update. I'm here to help.

Third of all, Tally is completely incorrect. I'm not sure who told him this information, but I never said this to RGN ( aka Mike Nomad ).

And lastly, we are aware of issues with the converter, so if someone has some example files that cause problems with the converter than please PM me here and let me know how I can aquire them so that we can verify the issues. Also, it would be great to get an updated list of known issues from you guys about what is still not working properly.

-Chris

This is all bulls***t. Its all blabla.

Sparks, Chris_P and all other supposely mappers, do you see any custom maps released so far? Game and Tools are available since almost 3 months now... Where are the maps?

I'm not talking about the crappy zombie maps released so far, incomplete maps with missing things and mapping errors, I'm talking about REAL MULTIPLAYER CUSTOM MAPS!

Sparks and Chris_P are easy talker.

Now pull out the money of your pocket, by the game the same way we do, patch it to 1.1, download the tools like we do DON'T USE THE GAME AND TOOLS provide by Treyarch... Do it like we do.

Now make a real custom map, with effects, sounds, destructibles, working vehicles, a minimap, a loadscreen do you know how to make one?

Then release it, add it to a window server, add it to a linux server by using the redirect.

Then, come back here to tell us all is fine!

Are you serious when you say things like that?

I think we don't talk about the same game or you miss visiting tons of sites where all the issues are listed.

You talked about RGN amd mike nomad... Maybe the guy and his crew have a big mouth but they have an accurate list of all the problems encountered with the game and the tools.

Get out your bubble and listen to the real community of players and mappers.

I didn't even say anything in this thread technically since my post got edited and wasn't even about the tools or how they are fine, how was I "easy talking" or are you just using me as escape goat for your ignorant comments about mods/maps released so far?

Have you even made a "real custom map" or just talking the talk and can't do jack when it comes to modding yourself Nemo? Nazi Zombie Subway has sounds, a minimap, and loadscreen, as do the many other nazi zombie maps and MP maps for WaW, some even have some great stuff too like rope tech use by Elim. Anzio and FRU Church are just some of the great zombie maps (gameplay and design) you label as "crappy".

The tools aren't perfect but they work fine enough where people can create playable maps and mods, Im sorry if your ineptness to figure things out on your own is stopping you and particular others, or if you're all being overly dramatic bellyaching about s#!t. I can see if there were 0 map and mod releases for WaW because they tools were that bad, then I can see your point, but that isn't the case.

I found your post rather rude, insulting, and nonconstructive of the hard work mappers/modders do, if you feel all their work is "crappy" you should just walk away from ModsOnline and the modding community if you feel so high and mighty. This isn't the first time you've had a pee-pee poor attitude, maybe you should rethink about doing something more constructive with your life and free time rather than come here to pee-pee on all the work done by people.

So are you saying that the fine people here at this site are not the real community of players and mappers ? If I should be elsewhere offering help to other people instead of the people here then please let me know.

I thought that by coming here and acknowledging your anger and frustrations that I was actually listening and responding to you guys ?

Do you want me to post a list of them for you?

Yes, I am very serious when i'm asking for your support and input in identifiying the issues with the tools. I'm definately not joking. I know it's a pain to post a list of issues, so if an updated list already exists..that's awesome. If you could simply point me to a link or something which has the information needed to describe and recreate the issues that would be great.

Where are the maps??

I'll bet there are HUNDREDS of maps out there ready to be run....where are the REDIRCTS is maybe the question....

"Think about it this way, Treyarch doesn't have to support modding or mod tools if they don't want to, the more and more people push them the less likely it becomes that we will see tools for future releases."

They also don't have to enjoy the success they could if they supported this game to the BEST of their efforts....

Hi my friends...
I have a mp map 99.9% ready for release..
http://www.modsonline.com/Forums-top-94061.html

The only reason that i havent released it to the community yet is basically because of the redirect problem..
I am very tempted to and have had lots of emails asking for the map..
In a way the redirect problem not being fixed yet has made me work more on it and add many more details etc;;

OK. Some of these posts are starting to get personal and I really don't want to have to delete them. So, instead I have started a new thread we ask....
http://www.modsonline.com/Forums-top-95468.html
Quote:
If you have found an error with the mod tools, post the error here and how someone else can reproduce that same error. Make your post clear and to the point. Post ONLY errors and supporting information. All other posts will be deleted.

We are providing this thread for Treyarch in the hopes they will be able to solve these issues listed herein.

http://www.modsonline.com/Forums-top-95468.html

I will place a link to this thread in the other two mapping categories for Call of Duty World at War for your convenience.

Locking thread now.
