Not sure if this is a normal occurrence or not but I have one zombie spawn area that is at the start of my map and every once and a while a zombie will just die. He starts to follow the path but then just stops and dies. Now this isn't all the time most zombies are able to make their way along the path just fine but it just seems strange that one dies sometimes.

What I have tried is:
1. recreating the spawn
2. recreating the pathnodes
3. deleting and reputting the barricades and traverses in

Any thoughts?

i found while doing frurathaus that zombies would stop at the side of some clip brushes even if they are not touching it or a solid brush.. so i overcome this by swopping the normal clip for a player clip... that should solve ur problem .. or just make the brush none colliding if its not in the way of zombies and outside your map area

Thanks Elim I just ended up moving the spawners to a new location and everything seems to be working ok now.

Though I will say I have now noticed the same phenomenon at other spawn locations it was just this one location that was particularly bad.

you mean that zombies die just because of AI_Clip texture and it is solved with player clip? If it is so, is the player Clip texture a better thing to let them know "Thats not your allowed area, guys" ? my zombies are flying over a big fence if there is no Clip texture.

Can i manually set the path for the zombies like in the game Crysis (waypoints) that would be that easy.

Player_clip will physically stop the player.

ai_clip will physically stop the ai.

Using player clips on areas or models that you do not want the AI to walk through/get caught up on will do nothing.

(what I think is going on, could be wrong)
Best to make more path nodes around obstacles and things to help the AI out a bit.

The problem is I think most times the AI will find away past the blockade but the zombie mode checks the zombies movement like a debugger so if the zombie stops for even a second or encounters a wall/clip before a barricade it deletes them/kills them.

Really what needs to happen here is to actually research all related zombie scripts and find out how exactly the debugger works.

Hello guys, very frustrated here .. I'm having the same problem. My zombies die prematurely and I dont even have those player clips or monster clips. Tried erasing my zombie spawners and remaking them and they still die from nothing. They follow the pathnode ok, they just fall to the ground from fatigue or I dont know what. I dont get it... :( Could it be that my map is to big .. ? Any help appreciated. It looks like a rare problem so i'm hoping for a quick fix... Thank you anyway ..
