I get a warning when compiling:

WARNING: node without a volume
node has 3 tiny portals
node reference point 582.02 1951.00 1834.31
WARNING: node without a volume

it finishes compiling and it loads the map.
i went into radiant and looked at this and it was in a prefab that I made using milkshape. it worked fine before and then I moved it around by selecting all....
...should i just redo it and see what happens or is this warning ok?

there are 2 types of nodes without volume.

type #1 - when a brush becomes so large that the compiler cannot find the boundries - or cannot find the edges of the brush.
typical symptom is the coordinates given are ALWAYS 0 0 0

solution - draw a brush that JUST encompasses all of your map and press I or select --> inside. Copy and paste into a new blank map and save.

you don't have this error... :P

type #2 - when a brush becomes smaller than 1 unit and fractures. typical symptom is actual map coordinates given

solution - write down all the coordinate locations you need to repair.

go to map location and enter the coordinates - this should center your views on the coordinate set you are working on. draw a 10^3 (usually enough to grab the brush) that is centered at that coordinate set.

select inside and delete the brush

repeat.

if you know what brushes are fractured, it is also easier to remove and remake the brushes using non-fractured geometry, as details so fine will not be missed in gameplay
