hi guys!

got a doozy here...

on my map i have one spot that can't be walked on or jumped onto, or "entered" in any way shape or form. it is part of a brush (i actually had a patch in that same area prior and i still have the same problem). it is a flat area with snow texture as ground. and, as i said, it is only part of a region, not the entire brush/patch.

any ideas how to resolve this?

it doesn't appear to be any sort of world object, yet it is there. maybe there's a bug in my .map file? like an empty brush?

i dunno...

waitin fer yer responses...

tx!

I'm may not be much help on this one, but here's a tip that might help you troubleshoot .

What does it look like in Graydiant? Is it just invisible in the game or have you checked Graydiant? There must be something there. Make sure you have checked the filters so that all entities are shown. Also do a "Show Hidden" just in case you hid an object by mistake.

You can look in the game for any objects there by doing the following.

In the game, pull down the command menu with tilde ~
Then try the following. *Note, YOURMAP will be the name of the map you made.

devmap YOURMAP

Once your map is loaded pull down the menu again and try this.

r_showtris 1

This will show the faces that make up the map. Have a look around and see if you have anything in that area.

r_showtris 0 will turn off the tris viewing

Take a look at the tris and see if there is an object there. If there is, then you will have to go into Graydiant, find it, and deal with it appropriately. If you have the filters set and you are sure you are viewing everything, you can draw out a brush that covers the problem area. From there hit the "Select Inside" button. This will automatically delete the brush you just drew, and select all the items that were inside of it during that time. From there you can delete the objects and rebuild that area. Hopefully it will have picked up any objects that were somehow invisible. If that doesn't work, then maybe some more experienced mappers have some ideas. [ohwell]

sounds more like a clip brush from a removed entity to me

click view --> show --> and make sure everything is checkmarked
click view --> filters --> and make sure everything is checkmarked

now take a look in that area and see if you have a stray clip brush that was filtered out by your editor settings...yet there for the engine to add [angryalien]

'twas extra clip brushes...wow, what a pia...you'd think those things would be tied/grouped to the object which they were orginally part of...geez...
