What prefab are you trying to edit?

I saved a big building I made as a prefab and now when I enter that prefab I can not select individual pieces or textures or anything to edit it. I have the exact same problem when I enter a stock prefab to try to edit that. I hit shift and left mouse click but it always selects the entire prefab. I can not figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Are you possibly trying to edit a model instead of a prefab?

That may be possible, Im not really sure what difference is between the 2. I saved the building as a prefab in .map format. I had the same trouble with cod4. Can you give me the run down on the difference between the 2 and how I should be doing it if I want to edit a prefab?

Thanks

To edit your prefab you have to open it in radiant the same way you open your map... File/open..
Browse to your prefab and open it up. Now you can edit your prefab and all changes you make will be directly visible in your map.
