Ok I’m stumped I am trying to get some custom models into the game so I got the textures and the models to make it through the asset manager w/o any problems and placed them in the game with radiant again w/o any problems and compiled the map w/o problems but when I go into the game to view the map or look at my models with the asset viewer they show up completely black I can see the fine in radiant textures are all there so I’m sure it’s a lighting issue I have the reflection probes I messed around with all the lighting options in the launcher app. But still no luck so I tried putting some models from the game files and compile with them no problems the models show up just finei also have put the model textures on some brush's and compiled the map they were fine, so it’s something with my custom models

HELP

THX

Select the whole model in Maya, go to colour>apply colour, and make sure the apply colour setting is fully white.

If that doesn't work, make sure you have a .iwd file with the textures in in your mod folder, because unlike COD4 it doesn't crash if it can't find them, it just shows black models.

Also, tell me if you get bullets to hit your models, because I haven't seen anyone do it yet [sad]

Just set "high" as your collisionLOD, works for me.

And yes, xmodels appearing black is because you didn't apply color to your model in Maya. The xmodel appearing all white in-game is a result of your custom images not being an in IWD in usermaps/mp_yourmapname

That's the first thing I did. I set all the materials to the metal surfacetype too, no effect. Even tried using the naming conventions that Trey used (static_modelname, mtl_blahblah)
