Hi,

I am trying to add a moving train through the middle of my map.

But the trians at the back overlap the ones at the front. I am using Rasta's plane script.

I have no problems if the trains are along side each other like this:

http://www.metal-headz.co.uk/t1.bmp

They all move at the same speed.

But if I put them like this to make a full train

http://www.metal-headz.co.uk/t2.bmp
http://www.metal-headz.co.uk/t3.bmp

The trains at the back overtake each other

Any help would be appreciated [smokin]

If the script is the same then i think that your problem is the script origins, the scritp origins need to be placed the same length apart as the each section of the train is. So if there is like a 300 unit gap between them, put the origins 300 units apart. Or just make your own script.

thanks ukdjaj

Why not make the whole train part of 1 script_brushmodel? So your moving one collective group rather that several groups.

How do I do that?

I tried wielding all the models to each other and giving them the same targetnames and using just one script origin.

Un-group them all, (select them all then right click> entity un-group?)

Then select all the train cars at once (and an origin brush). Right click, script_brushmodel. give them the targetname and value that you need. Save and it should now act as one entity.

I made a train and covered it in the orig brush, if I right click it says failed to create entity.

Are you using models? I just tried it with subway cars that I made out of brushes and patches for one of my maps. The origin brush is just a small brush at the centre of one carriage, I select everything (no models) and make them brush models. Even used a quick move script to test.

OMG, help the guy out ffs.

Right, delete your trains, delete your origins..

1) Load up three fresh train script_models.

2) Place as you like them (together)

3) Select all three and add "targetname" "train", "target" "end"

4) Add a script origin, "targetname" "end".

5) Change your script to the names.

Easy as that TBH!!!!!!!!
