So i got a real annoying problem: most of the time when i copy/move a terrain mesh it dissapears from the grid and a tiny mesh gets created at the origin (Z) of the grid. I don;t have a clue what could be causing this problem.

so if anyone could enlighten me? =)

hmm i think its caused by 'bad' terrain meshes? cause i created some new meshes and i'm able to copy move them.

oh well, guess i need to redo most of my terrain then [ohwell]

Well first of all I would assume you're duplicating the mesh rather than copy and pasting it. To Duplicate simple press Spacebar when the mesh is selected.

Secondly, if it's creating a teeny weeny mesh at 0,0,0 then aslong as it still has the same geographical profile, just stretch it back to it's original size and lay it over the top of your original.

i use spacebar to duplicate the mesh, not copying and pasting.

i tried to stretch it, but there is no visible mesh, you only get the ] with the number that extent, but no triangles =(

and it now turns out that it randomly happens? a mesh i could copy before now disappears too when i press spacebar (the copy disappers, not the original mesh)

but thanks for your help!

Turn snap to grid off then copy/paste it, then turn it back on. Might work (I think it's Grid>Snap to grid, it changes but the tick never disappears).

I've had similar problems, I made a tunnel out of terrain, it was quite long so every so often i would compile the map to check i had not made any mistakes and to close any little gaps, it was all okay. When i finished it and i had added some more terrain i then compiled the map and two big sections in the middle of the tunnel had massive chunks missing.

I will have to redo that section, just wish i knew what was causing it as its happened a few times now.

I have found the solution for my problem:

it appears that after a radiant crash while i was editing a terrain mesh something went wrong and i couldn't copy/move my meshes around anymore.

To fix this you need to delete the registery key library for codwawmodtools.

To do this follow the following steps:

Run "regedit" and go to hkey_currentuser/software/iw/codwawradiantmodtools and delete the whole library.

after this you have to load your project settings again when you start radiant, those are located in callofdutywaw/bin

Thanks to Peri for helping me out! much appreciated [thumbs_up]
