Here is a screenie from the UT2003 editor. After a couple of evenings of just looking at a few beginners tutorials for the old UnreadEd for Unreal Tournament, built my first room with a couple of lights, a box, player start and a health pickup.

Worked with UnrealEd last night for a while duplicating lights and brushes. What I found is that when duplicating a brush (copying) and moving into the void so to speak you have to subtract it before it becomes a normal room. If you say build a brush inside a room you have to add before you can see it completely.
Also I wanted to see how connecting to rooms with a hallway was going to punch a hole in the walls for doorways. Anyway I think I am making progress. Just can't wait for the real deal to come along.

I wonder with the release of the demo coming soon will we be able to create test levels and run in the demo? It would be worth a try. If it would work a mapper could really get the feel of the editor.

the early sof2 releases had locked the pk3 files so additions and changes where not allowed.

However, I don't expect the same treatment from Epic. My guess is that it will be possible.

I will sure have to give it a go. That would be awesome to have some first hand practice and be able to run in game to test the functions. All the people that are experienced with the older unrealed will be far beyond the rest of us. But with all the talent here we should be able to keep up. lol Thanks

After looking at the Maya program tutorial I saw where you could actually create terrain models in it. Also a tutorial on creating a couple of creatures like a squid and shark. This is going to be awesome.
