Arkadian writes...Quote: Guys I think you have to select models all the time instead of prefabs. I noticed that when I stuck a load of models on my map, I ran it and they were all solid. So I guess treyarch have stuck them all in one folder lol, very wierd
This is true, Treyarch i guess redid he name "Prefab" and gave it a more technical view. |

No offense guys, but I think you're missing the point here.....yes, I know I can make my own buildings and prefabs. I can even bring them over from UO and CoD2 and find/replace textures. That is not a problem, I've already done that.
The problem is that the ESSENTIAL prefabs for multiplayer are not included in the tools. They do not EXIST.
Example? Where are the bombs for S&D? Where are the flags for CTF? And on and on..........
The way it is now, you can only make a simple DM or TDM map. No other gametypes because the MP objective prefabs aren't there. No dynamic models, and on and on.
All the basic, fundamental things that have been included in Radiant packages since the days of UO, are NOT HERE.
That is the problem, and that is a problem of monumental proportions. |

Ok, lemme back the truck up here and apologize.........my comments are borne out of frustration, I didn't mean to sound mouthy or offensive. My apologies.
I do have an honest question for facts:
Am I simply missing something or are some of the prefabs, etc missing? Have they been moved to /xmodel? The wiki refers to /prefabs/mp......and it doesn't exist. So am I correct in assuming this will be fixed in a patch?
I'm also assuming Sparks, that you are simply saying, "Sky you lazy dumbass, just build your map and then put in the MP prefabs at the end, they should be released in a patch by then"???

im not the radient guru but if we could just clarify for this thread. the prefabs are not anything necessary to run anything that you would normally be able to in the normal game.
prefabs are just copies of the finished product such houses or as models with all their correct settings or the dynamic models such as bombs for a gametype with all the settings pre programmed.
i think what sparks is saying that you should be able to do whatever you need without the prefabs. and with the previous example of sparks is that for domination you should be able to just look in the files and plug in the settings for the flag to get the gametype to work.
is that right? lol |
