So I just got my copy of COD:WaW yesterday but it will not run, MP just brings about the error message and needs to be closed, SP just does not load.

I've only just got back from formatting my comp so I've just had to update my gfx drivers and I made sure directx C was reinstalled but now I'm rather stumped as it won't load, I've even tried the first patch to see if that helped but so far no luck. I know for sure cod4 works fine and theres little difference between minamum specs between the two, so is anyone able to spread any light on this for me
my specs:
pentium 4 3.4ghz processor
geforce 7600gt
2gig ram
windows XP

Hmm well your machine definatly meets the minimum requirements and my second point of call would have been to patch

- Do you remember the error message that came up, can you replicate it and tell us?
- Can you run the game in safe mode?

I think that reformatting your machine wipes out the possibility of it being a messed up installation. I had endless issues with COD4 with the 7600GT which makes me want to think that the card, or atleast the drivers, are causing problems.

I've been asking around about the problem and finally hit upon a solution, I had to disable the unimodem half-duplex audio device under device manager, I have no idea why that would of affected it but since doing that its working fine.
Aparently quite a few people have had this problem so maybe it might get resolved in a later patch
