Thanks for your help i'm still new to the mapping side of things, well new to cod in fact. Anyway after i compile it goes to a blank load screen which is fine since i dont know how to set it. After the load is finished it just closes that window down and opens up CODWAW MP and then nothing happens. I've very new to mapping so all ive set for now is a piece of flat land (brick not terrain) a player spawn location and a floating gun. Also a light source.

Do i need to add any scripts of any kind? i dont know how you add scripts to a map. I just want to get my map to run first then after i know how to make it run i will make it more detailed.

Thanks if anybody can help me getitng my map to open!

Make sure you have the following boxes ticked:
- Compile BSP
- Compile Lights
- Compile Vis
- Connect Paths (for singleplayer)
- Compile Reflections
- Build Fastfiles
- Run Map After Compiler

Be aware, connecting paths and compiling reflections will fire up the sp / mp tools, which is not the game. It looks like it loads the game, but it doesn't.

Only the run check box will make your map run at the end.

It get somewhere when i do all those but Vis but get no where when i do Vis. Do i need any respawn script or anything to make my map playable? i intend to just play it by myself for now. I dont care if its single player or multiplayer just whicher is easier and faster to get me into the game and running around

You don't need any scripts for the spawn points. I know for tdm you need an tdm spawn point, allies spawn point and axis spawn point. also you need to add in a global intermission. all these can be found by right clicking in the 2d grid and selecting mp.
Also, have you put the mp_ to your map name?
your map name should be:
mp_target_test

ok thanks for the help ive gotten abit further now. After it opens that windowed screen which has a load bar with a title 'cineamaticsubtitle' after that guys away my game opens up and runs a Activision video which crashes my game :S.

I'll keep working on it. Thanks for your help!
