Cannot Load maps/mp/mp_MAPNAME.d3dbsp



ok, i've been making maps for the last few months but never finished any (i do that alot) so i took a break from mapping for about 2 weeks.

Yesterday I got on, played CoD4 multiplayer, then decided to make a simple map, and try to actually finish it this time.

So i wokred and worked and didn't try to test anything until i had a few buildings done. when i decided to test out what i had built so far, I made a sky box, copied the Killhouse worldspawn settings, inserted a few lights, a reflection probe, som TDM spawn points (for both teams, and on generic one) and a global intermission.

When i began compiling the bsp everything was a s normal. but then, when i compiled the reflections, the game just went to the main menu insted of loading the map the automaticaly closing it like usual. Then, when i tried to build the fast file it said

The Zone Files Seem Fine, but when i try to run the map, nothing happens, it just goes to the main menu like when i compile the reflections.

Its not just for this map too; i duplicated a working map that i had just run, compiled it, and the same thing happened.

According to the fast file there is no playable map file (d3dbsp) so your maps compile log should have an error. Recompile you map with Fast lighting so it compiles quickly and post your compile log.

ok but how exactly do i get to or veiw the compile log.

It looks the same as the Fast File compiler only it happens when you click on "compile bsp"

Once it gets to the end, instead of "press any key to continue" just right click the window and "select all" and then "copy".

If there is one, there may be a file called "mapname.errlog" in your COD4/map_source folder. If there is post the contents here as it may contain the error. (its basically a log of all errors found in the bsp compile)

there wasnt an error log for that particular map btw...
strange...

This is your error.

Somewhere there's a entity with that value. The " before the .8 should not be there. I'd take a wild guess it's in worldspawn.
