hey guys, i tried to add the tiger tank in the game at my new map, i followed the instructions in the tutorial but i've set "vehicletype" "tiger_mp" and "model" "xmodel/vehicle_tank_tiger" instead of the stock ones, i created an tiger_mp in the map uo/vehicles, i created an tiger_turret_mp in the map uo/weapons/mp, i've added the lines in the _tankdrive_gmi.gsc and in the _tankeffects_gmi.gsc but it still doesn't work.

i think its in the vehicles/tiger_mp file, because i did:
usehintstring/GMI_VEHICLE_T34_HINT
and i think it should be this:
usehintstring/GMI_VEHICLE_TIGER_HINT

but if it should be that way, does anyone know where i can creat such an GMI_VEHICLE_TIGER_HINT ?

creating a hint is really called a localizedstring which is then added during a compile to the the pk3 this is just made with a text file showing you in game what to call the damn vehicle.. for the tiger gmi i guess your going to have to use aimtree to set the weapon def and fix it so it doesnt function like just a regular panzer.. But if you were cheap then you would just set panzer_iv = tiger_mp in your script and format the dds or gun sights on to the tiger, hud icon for life and then damage endon death. Or that is what i did for the field gun to get it to work like a 88.... since it was the same size mm gun. Once your done with creating weapon def. all you do is add the tiger collmap to your map file and then you need an additional pk3 for the weapon zzzz_tigertank.pk3 you get the drift.

Oops you guys are just trying to get the tank static...oh then just add its xmodel you dont need any gmi or script for that .... the long description above was how to make a tiger work or usable, if you still wondering here is a hint for the use key

there are 2 tutorials that this thread could be referring to

DRIVABLE vehicles in coduo mp
or
Models in your map
note the second one is for static models [angryalien]

okay dude ill try, since I have some parts and files using aimtree, Im for sure you have to make a sep. pk3 file that goes along with the map pk3. Which includes these folders xmodel, xmodelparts, xmodelsurf, localized stings,maps>mp> gsc mod into gmi using amitree for the usable vehicle, collmaps, gfx (hud icons), skins, sound, soundalias, and vehicle. These are all again part of your zzz_tigertank.pk3 which goes in along with your map. Once you have your vehicle or weapon def completed just add the xmodel to your map give target name tigertank_mp.

Its works fine BUT if you go to the mg42 turret your server will shutdown [sick]

can you fix that ?

got the point now, in the tutorial, they don't tell you that you have to give the vehicles a "targetname" "tank"

well i've got a working tiger, deleted the turret until i get it working.
but now there's a problem. if you try this one, you'll see that the views on the tank are a bit strange. how can i fit that?
