Hello.
I've got an idea of a "sniper-mod", the only feature (difference) from the original is that the sniper could become more transparent (in some conditions).
I looked through http://www.infinityward.com/Script/index.htm , but found no opportunity to change player's transparency.
Is it possible ?

i would say that has something to do with textures, and is not defined in any script... if you can change the textures to be semi transparant (add an alpha channel to them) you can change it, but if you actually want players to be able to switch between these 2 modes, then i'm afraid it isn't possible unless there is a script which can make textures change

You can change which model the player is, one with the normal skin and the other with the edited skin

Find someone who knows how to skin, and they can just change the player skins more transparent. Never seen anyone attempt this so I'm not really sure on how the outcome will be.

Call of Duty 4: Textures

put a second alpha layer hind the first, fill it white and set the first to 50% opacity. merge both alpha layers. or try to set the alpha layer's opacity directly to 50%.

So, at last I managed to make a transparent ... RPG ^_^ As an exercise. [cool]

But it turned out more difficult, then I expetced. It is not enough to make a tranparent texture. You also need to change model's material (to set "blendFunc" property to "Blend"). Easy to say, harder to make [lol].

That means, you have to create a new material in Asset manager, using textures, taken from the original material. And then manually edit the model in any text editor, replacing all "mtl_***" strings referring to previous material to a newly created material x_X

BTW, are there any programs to "decompile" those materials in "raw/materials" folder ? At least to extract the basic properties of the material, such as materialType and surfaceType ?

You could turn completly invisible if you wanted to.
I have a script for a toggle Invisibility On/Off

It's setup as a Scriptmenuresponse since i have it located in my locked ''admin'' menu in the Quick Messages Menu.[biggrin]
