Hello Modders,

I'm starting to get back into some custom mapping, and I'm curious.

Should I put any effort into cod4 right now, with cod5 so close to coming out? I'm not sure how portable a map on 4 is going to be on 5, and if waiting isn't to long I can do it.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
S

As with all previous games, if your concerned, just create your map and leave it textured in caulk. This way it ismuch more likely to be able to port it over, though i cannot confirm this will be possible yet.

It's even possible to port caulk maps from cod1 to cod4... Just like with all the other CoD's. So you can be 99% sure caulk is portable.

Thanks! I'll start the initial layouts and stuff with caulk and move forward when the new tools are released.

before cod4 came out, CoD:UO was one of the most played games at xfire. when cod5 comes out, a lot people will continue to play cod4 - dont worry.

I heard COD5 has burnable textures, foliage etc. That might conflict with some stuff... Never know until it comes out.

As long as you do not use any models, and just use the caulk texture u will be fine. The texture defines if the brush is burnable not the brush itself. [thumbs_up]
