We all need to understand that a map is made and released by an individual or group to add to the community for our enjoyment. We all know how much work goes into making any map and we all know that it is not an easy process. We are all proud of what we do and quite frankly it is a slap in the face when someone modifies our work that we built and shared with the community.

It has been stated up above that this is not hacking. I say that this is indeed a form of hacking. A script kiddie comes into your website and only changes the index page for the site to promote theirs or some porn site or whatever they choose to display on the opening site. We all agree that the site has been hacked, correct? So why is it then that we should accept that when the loadscreen for a map comes up and it has been changed from the original that this should not be considered hacking? The opening page for the site and the opening screen (loadscreen) for the map have been changed. A site admin would scream HACK and so the mapper should be allowed to label it the same.

I stated this over on our site, get the word out to other mapping, gaming sites so that those responsible for "modifying" maps without permission can be punished by players etc by banning those responsible and boycotting their servers. Perhaps this is the only true form of protection that we mappers can expect. The community has to stand by its members for what they do for all of us.

Folks, we'll never escape those type of easy editing - Mainly IWI editing + Loadscreen.

USP Should have definetly ask permission to SPS/Map creator before doing those edit. Simply let them know this, i dont beleive 'theft' was intented since they have 'MAP BY SPS' on loadscreen.

By this i mean that they clearly dont claim to have created the map. SPS, you should contact this group to clarify intentions and ask for removal of modification since no permission was granted.

One of the problems is that people say things when they don't know what they are talking about.

Saying things like: Key, you are a victim of a robbery, that's life, buy new stuffs and wait to be robbed again... lollllll pathetic!!!!

Are we a community? yes or no? As a community can we take actions against those things or let this run and accept to be a victim?

They not only changed the loadscreen but all the banners and images INSIDE the map by adding their clan's banners and stuffs.

No? Have you visited their web site we the guy who modified the map claimed: I redid a little work on the sps map old west. It is now USL Old West Town!

The worst thing in that is to see people fold their backs and saying "we are victims, why change that?"

Lets tolerated hacking because we use Internet.
Lets tolerated cheaters because we play online games.
Lets tolerated hackers because they help the community.

I can't wait the day I'll see the community standing together and taking actions against what it is not right!

The first thing i would say in reply is that I am a mapper myself and I certainly am against what this USL CLAN did. What my post was trying (didnt work did it?) was to clarify my view on USL's intention. The mention 'MAP BY SPS' is the first thing i noticed. After that its a few IWI edited.

The problem in what USL did imo is that they didnt ask permission and for this reason SPS should ask for the map to be removed completly unless they reach an agreement.

Let's not go into the all Hacking/Cheating thing, its completly off-topic here.

This is the response from USL. We are grateful to see that they have noticed their action is not acceptable in any way. But i must say that first action they took was to delete our posts about this issue in their site.

On the other hand, SPS want to thank everybody for your support with this issue. We are sure you know all the time and efforts we need to make our maps. We try to make quality maps, and it's not easy. We don't always make a ten points map, but we try. We will continue in this line.

well at least they wrote madeby sps but this there is no excuse to still someones hard worked maps
