Okay I follow the video tutorial on clipping and carving exactly the same way he did it in the tut. Im about 99.9% sure im not doing something wrong. Ive followed the tut over 10 times with the same results. Everything goes okay, but if I make a clip and need to bring back the clipped piece (shift x) and delete the other piece it goes perfectly fine. I deselect the brush i want to keep, fine, but then when I select that brush that I did the clipping on, it crashes the editor everytime no matter what. Very annoying, basically what im saying is I cant use the clipper tool at all or it will eventually crash the editor if I select the brush that I clipped. Should I be posting this on valves forums or does anyone know whats up?

Also I must say, ive only ever worked with the CoD radiant before and the Hammer editor is awesome in comparison. Very hard to get used to the new keys and layout of the editor but it is almost rock solid. (doesnt crash every 5 minutes for no reason) Unless of course I use the clipper...

I also have to thank all the people that made the tutorials, theres no way in hell I coulda even started with that editor without those few tutotials. Keep em coming!

Haven't seen anything about this or heard of it, best bet is to post in the Valve or VERC forums, since the actual Steam forums is full of very little mappers and very many know-it-alls.

My advice? Don't use the clipper unless you have to!

i clip the brush and dont delete the unwanted parts.
once you have all the clips you want just select the parts you dont want and delete them.
thats how i do it anyways.
