There are 2 main ways that I know.

1st Way

Start COD
Select - Create Server
Within the server settigns define the game type, etc. Set the server to PURE = NO
Set the SERVER to DEDICATED = LAN
Select your map and run the SERVER

This will drop back to windows and leave a small window open where a dedicated server is running. To connect to this, Start COD again, select JOIN GAME, ensure your FILTER settings have View Empty = YES and Game Type = ALL. You should then see your server game listed. If not try refresh. If it does not show then something has gone wrong.

2nd Way

Start COD
Select - Create Server
Within the server settigns define the game type, etc. Set the server to PURE = NO
Set the SERVER to DEDICATED = NO
Select your map and run the GAME
This will then load you into the map.
Anybody else on the network can then follow the proceedure below to see your game.

To connect they Start COD again, select JOIN GAME, ensure FILTER settings have View Empty = YES and Game Type = ALL. You should then see your server game listed. If not try refresh. If it does not show then something has gone wrong.

Hope that helps. Sorry but I was doing this from memmory and I might have the odd step missing, but hopefully not [biggrin]

If you know the computers IP adress you can do what I do.

The way I do it is have the fastest machine on your network "start a new server". Dedicated=NO. Setup on how you want to run the server, ie time limit, friendly fire, etc and load a map. Once the map is loaded and running the map you want, connect directly to it.

Using the tilde key (~), pull down you cvar menu. Type the following

connect IP

Then hit ENTER. It would look something like this

connect 192.168.0.1

This will connect you to the machine. If you don't know the IP address i can tell you how to find it, but it might just be easier to follow the directions listed from someone above. [wink]
