When I make a wire, like power lines, they become one sided. I can see it from one side, but the other side is invisible. I'm using "me_wire_black" to texture them which doesn't appear to be a decal, so why are they one sided? Is there an optimal size for making wires, cables, etc?

Thanks.

I used that texture too, and it did the same thing, so it might well be a decal, which isnt named properly.

I don't know if it's how it's done, but I just duplicated the wire, flipped it, and slapped it right up next to the other one. Now I have double sided wires, but they're also double the geometry. [ohwell]

Woo! It's been a while since I last posted here.

Anyway, I wanted to update my previous post here about wires.

An easier way I've found to create double sided wires is to simply create one wire, duplicate it by pressing the spacebar, (then realign it because it always jumps a few units away) then inverting the patch by pressing CTRL+I.

Thats more or less how its done, clone the patch, replace it correctly and hit CTRL+i (invert)

Edit: Duh! Sorry didnt see the above post! Also, mp_backlot in COD4 map_source has some nice wires which can be copied over.
