A couple of ways. Make a rectangle the width and height you want for your roof. Go to the side view and select the brush. Now press X and then click on the area where you want the cut to start, you will see a dot with a one, now click where you want your angle to stop, click again, a dot with a 2 will appear. You will see part of the brush disappear, you can move the dots if not where you want them or hit escape and redo, now press shift and enter and the cut will be made and the both pieces of the brush will reappear. Now do those steps over for other side. Now select the two pieces you want removed and delete them. It will be a solid triangle. Or you can make a flat brush the size you want then use the rotate tools or free rotate button and move it into position. Hope this helps, this as straight forward as I know.
