I'm having a bit of a head-scratcher here.

Does anyone else have a problem alpha blending terrain patches in Radiant UO?

I've been through the tutorials and they work fine in Radiant (for COD1), but when I try the same thing in UO, nothing. It just don't work at all for me.

Am I doing something wrong? or is this a glitch in Radiant UO?

Thanks :)

should work exactly the same if I remember correctly. But I'm on my laptop, not my computer, so I can't check atm.
When you say 'nothing'.. what DOES work in the tutorial? Does the terrain editing window show up when you press 'Y'?

Yes, I can pull the terrain editing box up when I press Y, and I 'Paint Height' works, but not the alpha blending.

When I do it in Radiant (for COD1) it works just fine, but when I do t exact same thing in Radiant UO, I can see the circle, but holding alt-click or alt-right-click does nothing.

Radiant UO

Really strange :)

You are using an alpha texture right? When you try to blend a solid texture it does nothing.

Yes, that was the first thing I checked. In fact, in those example photo's, they are the same two textures.

Did you make a terrain mesh or a patch mesh?
Also, i might be mistaken, but I thought the alpha textures had a white border around them, which I don't see in the UO picture.

Terrain mesh.

And that's the odd thing, The green grass does have the white border around it indicating an alpha channel image, but the brown grass does not, yet they both worked in Radiant, and neither worked in Radiant UO.

Like I said, it's a real dome scratcher.

Are you remembering to hold down the Alt key when moving the curser around the area you are trying to blend? Also you do not need to select and high light the texture you are trying to blend. I find it easier to make one layer structure and the blended layer non-coliding then using the filter "F" uncheck structure and it will leave the non-coliding texture so you can see the areas being erased as you hold down the ALT key when moving around the curser.

Thanks Gang,

I've tried all your suggestions and still no soap. I even went so far as to do a totally fresh install on a different computer and it still won't work.

Like I said it works fine in the original Radiant so I have even gone so far as to blend a patch in Radiant and then port it to Radiant UO, but the blends don't hold and I end up with two unblended patches again.

Oooh, hang on a sec. Could it be a glitch in the version I'm using? Is there a later version that I should be using?

I'm currently using Graydiant 0.9.1 Alpha build 2
