Hi

ive been struggeling with the loadscreen for almost a week now, and its still doesnt work.
Ive followed every tut and info from forum members, but the B**** wont work.
i constantly get a message that the loadscreen_mp_mapname couldnt be found. i have tryed everything.
dont tell me to google!!!
my shoulders hurt, and i believe im getting frkin RSI.
Stupid IW think we all programmers.
does any1 have 1 SIMPLE solution! not 6 different ways to do it. i already got some maps working/running without minimap and loadscreen.

easy....find your loadscreen .iwi then put it into
Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\main\images
and
Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players\images
if you dont have them folders make them

how can i share the map that way?

i put all my .iwi files into them folders i.e minimap, loadscreen and custom decals
thats just to get them working on my system easly. then when it came to releasin my map i put them into a .iwd file

didnt the other players that dl your map get the same error?

nope my map was released fine.....the problem is that when you hit the run selected map button in the compile tools it loads up the stock multiplayer game not modwarfare so the game cant find the .iwi's cos its not lookin in your iwd file. my method is just a easy work around

i give up the dreadfull loadscreen en damn minimaps.
better make the without them..
the stress is killing me

ok i seem to be having a similar problem
i have put the iwi file in main/images
and players/images which i had create

but still im not getting the image on loadup
i was getting the error loadscreen_mp_mapname couldnt be found
but i fixed that just dont know how and suddenly it was working the loadup screen was showing up
however after i restarted the computer its not working anymore
im sure thats an easy fix but i just cant get a handle on what it is
any suggestions?

I find it best to just create the IWD from the get go and place it in your favorite mod folder, launch the game, start your favorite mod and drop the console and load your map.

If you have correctly created all your images in iwi format, what u need to do next is:
create a folder on your desktop called images, copy your iwi's in to that.
Zip it up using winrar, but make sure u use the .zip extension.
call the zip "mp_mapname.zip" then change the .zip to .iwd.
Moved the new iwd file to gameroot/mods/customMaps directory.
Then in your modtools checkthe last box, custom command line, and add in there +set fs_game/mods/customMaps
