Steam doesn't let me play anything in offline mode for some reason, but its not really a problem for me. As much as I prefer to have a physical version of a game and the skepticism I usually have from buying online, I have no concern buying some games over Steam. Steam is a lot more reliable than EAlink and there are no limits on the amount of time you can download a game. Once you have bought the game it is saved to your account. If your hard drive was to melt down all you would have to do is install Steam again and it will display all the games you own and then procede to download them for you. Perhaps the fact that I can get the games half price due to the conversion rate at the moment has something to do with it as well. I'm really enjoying TF2 at the moment as well, and it sure is helping me forget the disappointment of CoD4's MP nightmares....
