YEAH! They surprise? Half-Life 2 Deathmatch! You can now log into your steam account and download Deathmatch for Half-Life 2. Go and get it... tell me how it is (I'm at work).

I joined a game with a ping of 40 but when I got in there it went up to 600+ and a lot of the time 999 some of the time it went down and I could play as normal.
It is only the 1st day and valve servers must be getting hit hard at the moment so I am happy to wait for it to in prove.
I got 40 kills in half a hour or so with that much lag so I don’t care the map I played was 1 from the sp game you can change skins use your microphone to talk in game so far it looks like it will be a lot of fun just got to give it a little time to calm down and fix any small bugs that pop up.
I would say don’t worry about the lag for now just jump in there and have some fun you have been waiting 6 years so go for it and it should get more stable as time goes on.
I love the crossbow 1 shot 1 kill good fun.

Now to play some more happy lagging

Its like playing sp with people.
a few minor differences in physics but you have to expect that to help mp out.

I did not have as much lag on the next game I played and there were more players in that game 29+ in the server setup you can set it for team play so it is not just dm.
Only 2 maps at the moment they are

MP_Lockdown
MP_Overwatch

I jumped in 1 server and it was a custom map it downloads faster than the game loads but the server dropped b4 I got the map so I don’t think it will be long b4 there are a lot of maps to play.

it may have just been a revision of the map, in source you dont have to recompile the map to make some changes (you also could do similar in hl1)...that was very popular during thes ource beta, and you beat me to the punch!
