How do you get lights to show up, like the one in this screenshot, with the halo and everything?

I'd like to use it in a warehouse project.



I tried using "light" with values as high as 1200, but no soap.

right click in the editor and scroll down to corona, then just match the color to the color of your light. You will still need an actual light there but the corona will give it the halo effect.

I right clicked in the editor, but I don't see any option marked "Corona". Where do I find this?

I also am having a problem with daylight. It looks right, but the character is all black, as are all the models.

I'm using CODUOMaker with the Flare work-around checked and there are no leaks (thats the first thing I checked).

Both the actor and the models look fine under indoor lighting, but when I get outside in the sunlight, they all turn jet black.

(P.S. This is just the first building of what is going to be an airfield. It was based on photos of a real WW-II hanger in England. )

Looks like you need to add your light grid around the areas where the player can walk. Search for light grid for details.

Hello Raven21633,

Since the image is from my map ponyri_west here are some images that might help with your corona.
Right click area you wish to place corona and select from menu box as shown


Press the F key and in the entities window enter the settings for your corona:

Right click same area and place a light and using the entities window as above set the light color, brightness, etc.

Perfect!

It's working great now!

There was another problem that I didn't know about too. When I selected the skybox to bring up my worldspawn settings, there were 2 skyboxes, one right on top of the other.

In fact, every brush in the map was doubled in every location. It was as if I had the entire map selected then tapped the space bar. (which I may have done but I honestly don't remember ever doing this).

Anyway, I deleted every duplicate brush including the duplicated skybox and input the proper worldspawn settings.
