is there any tutorials on how to make a sniper scope. for call of duty 4 or cod2 that might work for cod4.

you're going to be more specific, what do you want to do with the sniper scope?

I want to make a diffrent crosshair maybe add a red dot. I dont want to alter the zoom. just want a diffrent look and transparency around it.

To start, the image you have to replace is scope_overlay_m40a3_1024#0.iwi. It's located in C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\main\iw_03.iwd\images\. The image is 1024 x 1024, although I have one that works just fine at 720 x 720.

With CoD4, I think you'd have to use AssMan to convert your image into .iwi format, and I only have a vague idea how that should be done. My best guess would be to do generally the same thing you do to make a minimap, except that you'd set "blendFunc" to "Blend" rather than "Replace" under "Framebuffer operations" (see here). Someone else might know more about that.

I don't use Photoshop, but if you're using the GIMP or Paint.NET, I might be able to help you some more.
