I'm having a few problems compiling thsi new map I've made. The first is:

Whenever I try to make a Fast File I get this error:

URECOVERABLE ERROR:
EXE_ERR_COUDNTLOADmaps/roadattack.d3dbsp

Linker WIll now terminate

And the second is that whenever I try to make a new grid file I get an access is denied error.

Can you post the full compile log? There is a error or 2 before the one you posted.
Is this a single player map?

This happens when it cannot find the .d3dbsp file which is created when compiling your map, check your compile settings first to make sure your compiling it properly.

Then compile it and check the log for errors, if the .d3dbsp is not made then it will say so at the end of the compile.

(edit: It could also be that it did compile, but is not being found because of a different error, check your raw/maps and raw/mp folder for your compiled map.)

Yeah, its single player. Thanks for the quick response guys.

Hmm...I just looked over my BSP compile log and found that is too had that same error, "coudnt loadmap/roadaattack.d3dbsp". Are the two tied? Also, where can I find compile settings?

Because you had that error in your compile log (compile your map again to get the log) scroll up the log and look for any errors, or copy paste your copy log here.


Right click the bar at the top of the compile log for options, including the "edit>select all" and "edit>copy" functions.

Hey guys...went through my BSP and found out that I had quite a few errors...namely that my skybox was leaking in several places and a refelction probe was "in solid". I fixed the problems...but the BSP still has errors, and I still get the "can't find d3dbsp" error.

Fix the leak, delete or move that reflection probe then compile again and if needs be post the new log.

techno is right. Fix your skybox and get rid of the probe(s) that is in or beneath the map floor
