OMG I'm trying everything buy compilation wont work on my map yet it's really simple.
I have (correct) skybox, worldspawn settrings and I dont't know what could be wrong.

Why is there this?

Compiling reflection open cmd.exe, which open cod4, which is immediately closed with windows error and in few seconds is cmd.exe closed too.


Building fastfile log.
It's really getting on my nerves.

Your error is 'MAX_MAP_NODES', have a search through the forums, i see a thread on this a while ago.

search in forum for MAX_MAP_NODES and nothing usefull found

BTW what this mean: 4070 vertices couldn't be merged because the textures point different ways

i made some portals but it still give me MAX_MAP_NODES - maybe blad portals but no error with them
-i made portals vith 45 degree corners as thre http://www.modsonline.com/Tutorials-read-127.html

-can portals go through brushes? or how is it with them? i really dont understand this, i nov i'm noob in this

A portal should not pass through a solid (structual) brush. Though they can pass through detail brushes (brushes that appear as green by default)

You are right to mitre the coners, if you are receiving no errors then they a probably correct, try with the console command (something like r_showportals 1) A blue screen should appear to show the portals

You need to chop up your map, turn anything 'detail' into a detail brush (right click the 2d - make detail), try to split your map into areas with portals, remove any non essential models/brushes..

i'm not catching your words (my dumbness [crazy])

what do detail brushes? isn't they non-solid so player can walk trough? i never red a lot about them

my portals are crossing some solid brushes but no errors such as ignorring portals
but still it gives me MAX NODES error

it is tunnel crossing, fast map, only tunnels, so it looks like

where each cell is prefab, so map is made of 4 different prefabs repeating and fitting together so it maked some tunnel network,
it's maybe 2000 x 2000 unit large

There is a portal tutorial in the CoD section.

Detailed brushes are brushes which are ignored in the portalling process by the compiler. So everything which does not make up a cell should be detailed.. like the inside of a house... leave the outerwalls, floor and roof structural, and everything else detailed.. then portal the building.

You can send me the .map file, but I won't have time to look at it until probably sunday evening. My email is at the bottom of this post.
