well now i feel very disappointed and lol.....annoyed to hear or read that there is no SP section, what is the reason for this?
as there are many talented SP mappers out there eg:SPY who would love to enter their SP maps into a competition.

Mabey there could be an SP comp also???? [casanova]

oh well us SP mappers are disapponted once more [cry]

ben [twoguns]

While there are no doubt some talented ones, there simply is not enough SP mappers to actually have a full contest. IMHO

it's true, i'm also disapointed. already for years i'm asking myself why everybody is so into mp mapping and gaming. ofcourse is that also nice, but to say it's so mutch nicer as sp, that i don't understand. it's a real shame!

I'm not here to say that sp is or is not better than mp... they are verrry different... however I can suggest that:

More people map for multiplayer because it is a lot less complicated, annnnnd more importantly, they can play and play test with many people - or even their clan all at once. I for one enjoy building maps that I can then play on with my friends --> with single player maps, your games up when your done making it, and you'll probably play it once or twice and then wait to hear what others think...

MP mapping is a social affair in the community, whereas SP is a lonely trek that can end up being less satisfying --> especially if noone really looks at it after all your hard work...

Because of all this, I find that MP maps can leave me feeling more content with my work, and therefore I am keen to focus more time on it...

All in all, it is not easy to make a good MP, or hard to make a crap SP one --> they are both, lets just say, fine arts :)

I think that the best thing for future comps would be to award bonus points for: a very good SP version; an average one; an attempt; for mp comps... Whenever I make MP maps (always), I keep in mind an idea and story for a SP campaign through the area - although I rarely end up attampting it!

So I'm not sure if that made a whole lot of sense, but hopefully it made just a little?!? :P

ya they are very good points there but my sig says it all lol

No i am also dissapointed that there are a little amount of people who do SP mapping but oh well.

It feels more rewarding to me as its much more complex but thats what i think.
