Everytime I load the game it says it appears your system has change click this (recomended) What is the deal?

It's saying that you changed your video settings last load of the game, press no or it will set your graphics back to the CoD4 factory settings.

It happens to me too, so I guess, yes.

uoconfig_mp.cfg isn't read only by any chance?

I have to say that I am using Vista I guess.

Another problem that I am seeing is that (and related I think) Last night I logged into the game and it isn't the name I want, so I change name. I play for 3.5 hours and log off and out. Go to bed, wake up, go to work, come home, log in and it's back to the name I don't want again!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

after you change your name click on it twice then quit the game ,then restart game and your name will stay

For your name issue, if you're using Vista, it could be moving your config_mp file to the "Compatbility files" area. If you go into your players>>profiles>>username directory, you might see the "compatibility files" option in the top bar next to burn, click on that, and check to see if your config is in there. If it is, just move it back.
