visit the download section and get these videos and WATCH them:

Cutting Terrain (Basic)
Cutting Terrain (Advanced)

you more than likely have brushes going through your terrain and that is giving you your lightmap alloc error

also, check that your have extracted the collmaps and env folders from pak5.pk3 to your main directory as outlined in Setting up the editor.

the flare can take the longest of all processes during the compile...but...make sure that you have closed all non-essential running programs before commmencing a compile, this can include any heuristic scanning software (some antiviruses run using heuristic analysis) and screensavers [angryalien]

If models pass through terrain can this also gives problems?

Also, at the end of the compile [where i said it stops] the time also stops. I have seen a few times where it says 0 seconds remaining and the timer still counts up, but both timers had stopped.

Ill start cutting the terrain soon...

K, looked at everything and cant seem to get rid of these errors.

Would someone take a look at the map for me please?
I will email it as a zip. Or if anyone can give me direct help towards these errors.

Most of these co-ordinates dont seem to be pointing at anything... Need help :'(

Largest Terrain brush is about 300x300...

Are these errors terrain specific?

it will put you EXACTLY on the spot. I appears to be a mesh. That is not getting lighting.

those errors are not terrain specific...but in most instances it is a poorly or erroneously made terrain that causes them [angryalien]

I finished compiling my map and noticed the problem pretty easily. The co-ordinates took me to below the problem so it never helped me.

I had a cylinder bent to make a corner [like in the bending pipe tut, but somehow it had become very mishaped :P

Problem solved :D
