So, HALO 2 is finally out and you should have at least gotten a couple hours of gameplay into it by now. I wanna know what you think of it. To be honest, I don't think it's as good as I was expecting... and perhaps that's what is wrong with the game. My expectations were higher due to the marketing of the game; and good marketing it was.

Let me know what you think in the comments here... and to start it off, I will let you know what I think.

I'm only a few hours into the game, but I have certainly developed an opinion of it already.

Halo 2 is a good game (so far), but it's definitely not as good as the first one. I do have to give it props for being the biggest opening game release in history. Heck, $90 million is quite a haul for one day. I think that might even beat any movie out there. However, this is just good marketing and has nothing to do with the quality of gameplay.

Without providing any spoiler let me point out a coupld of problems.

- LOD. Is there something wrong with the Level Of Detail mechanics in the game? The camera zooms in on a character and I physically see the LOD change from low to high. Bungie knows what the platform can do.. why should I see this?

- AI. I seem to remember the first game having much better AI. Already I have seen enemies walking into walls and not running from my gun fire. Odd behaivor indeed.

- weapons reload. Wow.. the weapon reload sure has gotten longer. I didn't realize this was an issue before.. but now I feel likeI can stop for a drink.

- Story. I don't think anyone would be able to follow the story line if they didn't know something about the the first game. This is usually when a TV series will fail.. when they start turning everything into a mini-series where you have to see part one to follow along with part two. I would have preferred a little more adjustment and flow at the start of this game.

Aside from these problems, I still want to go back and continue from where I left off. Don't let me lead to to think that this is a bad game because it certainly is not. Just don't expect to see something that will make your jaw drop.

Perhaps I will stop back with better things to say as I progress through the game.. right now I gotta get back and see what comes next. ... it's off to play some more, but now in co-op mode.

bah i hated this game...i didnt like the first one too mcuh...plus whats the difference....VERY LITTLE....i say its a waste of money just stick to the first halo

i havnt got it but need to know IS IT WORTH GETTING!! because as far as adverts go it looks good but they also made gta: san andreas look better then it is .. i no what is on my upcoming game list though.. s.t.a.l.k.e.r and half life 2 , but if anybody could tell me about halo 2 or point me in the direction of a review or something it would be appreciated lol

guys i know this isnt really the place but the games calender.. is it release dates in america or is everywhere the same??

The release dates may differ. I did notice a coupld of dates that were not quite correct, but they were only off by a couple of days and I fixed them. I try to keep that calendar up to date with EBGames release list.

If you played Halo 1 and liked it, then I think it's worth having Halo 2. But.. if you are on a budget and this game might mean you can't buy another one this month, then don't get it. Get Half-Life 2. I think HL2 will be the best game this year.

Halo 2 is now reported as being the $100 million day by some because of all the money it brought in. Again.. that's good advertising and doesn't mean it's a good game. You are going to have alot of clouded opinions of the game by people who love anything to do with Halo. So finding reliable reviews isn't going to be simple.

I will refer to my answer above again as to if you should purchase this game or not. If you have the money, go for it. If you don't, then wait for HL2 instead. Halo 2 is good, but I don't think it is going to be the best this year.

we played the first halo so many times on friday night with the four of us i can't count it any more and now we will do that also with halo 2 i hope :) if i also have some more comments when i played it i wills ay it.

Has it yet been released for PC? I want to get Halo 2 mainly for online multiplay, lol, anyone know if its out for PC yet? because I dont have an XBOX. Thanks.
