"Basically the CPU is dead. Yes, that processor you see advertised everywhere from Intel. It’s run out of steam. The fact is that it no longer makes anything run faster. You don’t need a fast one anymore. This is why AMD is in trouble and it’s why Intel are panicking,"

The processor (CPU) will never die... who care what one person conculded. It may be true the average computer user does not utilize their CPU, but is nVidia really cocky enough to think they can run graphics acceleration and a CPU on the same chip??
I have a linux dedicated server with a high end core2duo, 2gb memory, and the processor constantly takes a beating from apache.
I think they are going to enter the CPU competition, even though this article is about the death of the CPU.
Intel will continue to make better and faster processors, although the GPU is a very powerful piece of technology, there are major differences between the two in terms of the data being processed.
I'm an ATI guy (AMD owns ATI for those who are out of the loop). They have a great core architecture for their latest GPU which I hope to see built up in the near future.
