when I compile it ends without doing the paths
cant figure out what the errors are
some help please

Looks like your on vista 64x? If so unfortunatly the only way you can get it to work is to create a hack.

Do you have any experience in creating .bat files? also just checking that this is a SP map right?

Ok what i did is create a new .bat, you need to call this before the lighting stage, backup your existing .bat's first.

You set your .bat up like the following:

So you should end up with something like:

cd %treepath%

sp_tool.exe +set r_fullscreen 0 +set logfile 2 +set monkeytoy 0 +set com_introplayed 1 +set usefastfile 0 +set g_connectpaths 2 +devmap %mapname%


make sure you alter any paths and the mapname to suit you. Also name this ''test_compilebsp.bat''. I have also made the bat write a .log but you don't have to do this.

Before the lighting stage you should call this bat so:

Also to help troubleshoot you may want to add a pause command before this also, it may help if the bat doesn't work.

At the top of your cod4compiletools_compilebsp if not alreaad make sure the first line is changed to @ECHO OFF

Have a shot at that, you may need to alter a few thing as im not in the position to check any of this at the moment.

ok something is wrong I copyed what you posted in a new bat

cod opens then closes after a few moments then the dos window closes doesnt even do light

I renamed island to killzone the name of my map
and the test log is empty

damn Im starting to think I have to format and go back to 32 bit

My compile goes through stages BSP, Light then paths, (in that order) i have added a pause between each stage to help trouble shooting, ideally what should happen is you should have your map compile, the bsp and light then pause so you can see the progress and any errors then hit a button to connectpaths, the game launches, you normally get a white screen for a few moments then the game closes and the compile log show you the completed status.

You may want to mess about with the bat. You could try +set g_connectpaths 1 but im not sure that will work, because the game wont quit after connecting the paths, though you may be able to close it manually and still complete the compile.

nope doesnt work
tried with origional bat file putting pause just before it connects paths

it always ends with

and when I hit a key to continue the window closes
it doesnt do paths and ignores the rest of the bat even though there is a pause statment at the end of it

if this is because Im running xp 64bit then I may have to wipe and install 32 bit

installed xp 32
works now
although the tool still fails to create missingasset.csv

still have to manually create it and it always remains empty

oh well at least paths are working
