is there a way to have free look camera view with the editor that came with the game like in gtkradiant 1.5... i would just use that but its missing way to many things to even be worth the time... and i just hate staggering around with the in game camera...

heheh I had this brightness prob too!

just check if:

type in console (F2 --> ~ ---> console) "r_brightness 1"

does that make it better?

if so, go to the shortcut you made and add: "+r_brightness 1" to your command list (target)... or put that in your autoexec or whatever you've done to get in the editor....

Now, with your camera view Q... ummmm I'm not sure what you mean!

I have my D3radiant (or whatever its really called! - the one that comes with D3) setup to have a Z-hieght window, a basic window for 2D brush placement (changeable for all three basic views); an editor console window, and a 3D view...

the 3D view basically has free look capabilities using right click to moveforward or back, and pivot left and right... i use "a" and "z" to look up and down, and ctrl-click to move the cam pos up and down (or "d" & "c")... it is not full free look, which maybe what you mean, but it works fine with a little practice...

I've been using my arrow keys for camera movement since Half Life. Since that's what I am used to, I just never looked for a free camera movement alternative.

Come to SOF1, and the free camera was uncontrollable... another reason for me not to get used to such a feature.

ya foyle i even see you in your tutorials you seem very comfy with it and well im gettin there but if you ever used gtk 1.4 (the most recent fully functional version) you can go around in the map much like you would in spectator in the game not hard to control either... couse you can adjust the speed... the new gtk like i was sayin... has the free look but its missing so many features even stuff like patch bend mode... yikes ... still in beta so im hoping that that other stuff is comin... in the meantime ill have too keep truckin with d3 editor...
